Police arrested 12 individuals for their alleged involvement in various crimes during a special operation in the capital’s Mugda area.
Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) announced the arrests in a press release issued on Friday. According to the release, the special drive was conducted on Thursday across different crime-prone spots within the jurisdiction of Mugda Police Station.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Md Kamrul Hasan, 65, Mahbub, 19, Arif, 19, Liton Ali, 28, Md Shohag Hossain, 23, Md Halim, 42, Md Ibrahim, 24, Md Jobayer Ahmed Opu, 27, Abdur Rahim, 26, Md Imran, 24, Md Manik, 20, and Md Sohel, 25.
Sources from Mugda Police Station added that the suspects were sent to court following the initiation of legal proceedings against them.
Niaz Mehedi, additional deputy commissioner of police of the DMP’s Media and Public Relations Division, confirmed the information.
