Dr Zubaida Rahman, daughter-in-law of BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia, spent Saturday beside the ailing former prime minister in the CCU of Evercare Hospital after arriving from London a day earlier.
She reached the hospital at 3:38pm after staying briefly with her mother at her father’s Dhanmondi residence, Mahbub Bhaban, and spoke with members of the medical board before going to Khaleda Zia’s bedside, BNP Media Cell member Atikur Rahman Ruman said.
Zubaida returned to the Dhanmondi residence late Friday night, where her mother Syeda Iqbal Mandu Banu stays.
She had landed in Dhaka on Friday morning on a Bangladesh Biman flight from London and travelled directly from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport to Evercare Hospital. There she remained with Khaleda Zia and held several meetings with the medical board.
A member of the board herself, Zubaida had previously joined its discussions virtually but attended in person on Friday.
Ruman said she is closely monitoring the BNP chairperson’s condition round the clock and continues making enquiries even when away from the hospital.
Khaleda Zia has been receiving treatment at Evercare Hospital since 23 November under a medical board led by Professor Shahabuddin Talukder.
