Zonayed Saki has expressed his gratitude and thanks to the people of Bancharampur for electing him as the representative for BNP, Ganosamhati Andolan, and Ganosamhati Andolan in the Brahmanbaria-6 constituency.
In a statement released on Friday, the Ganosamhati Andolan chief coordinator remarked that he participated in the polls following a protracted struggle against fascism, and a bloody mass uprising, aiming to successfully implement justice, reform, and the electoral roadmap.
He paid profound tribute to the martyrs of the 1971 Liberation War and all democratic movements, describing the election as a long-awaited event for the nation.
Saki observed that voters across the country played a significant role by exercising their franchise in a fair and orderly manner. He noted that all participating political parties demonstrated resolve in making the election a success.
He also mentioned that despite certain limitations, the interim government successfully conducted the election, while the Election Commission also fulfilled its duties appropriately.
The chief coordinator extended his congratulations and gratitude to the people, all political parties, the interim government, and the Election Commission. He stated that the victory of the partners in the simultaneous movement would propel the struggle for establishing democracy and implementing the commitments of the “July National Charter.”
According to Saki, this victory signifies that the people have entrusted the simultaneous alliance with the responsibility of changing the governance system, state reform, reconstruction, and democratic transition.
He expressed hope that the next Parliament would move towards fulfilling these responsibilities through the formation and effective functioning of a Constitutional Reform Council. Saki also acknowledged the dedicated efforts of BNP leaders and activists at the central, district, and upazila levels, alongside those of Ganosamhati Andolan.
Highlighting that the core of their political programme is to build a united Bangladesh based on national unity, Saki hoped that all political parties from the anti-fascist movement would remain united in the national interest and uphold democratic norms.
He urged the citizens to continue their support and cooperation during the forthcoming democratic transformation. As a representative of the people, Zonayed Saki expressed his firm commitment to working with all stakeholders to fulfil his electoral pledges.
