President Md Shahabuddin has signed the July Charter implementation order. An official from his office confirmed this information to the media on Thursday afternoon.
A public referendum will be held based on this order. The referendum will seek the people’s verdict on the reform proposals finalised through dialogues between political parties and the National Consensus Commission, which were incorporated into the July Charter.
Meanwhile, Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus addressed the nation on Thursday noon regarding the implementation of the July Charter.
The chief adviser’s address was broadcast live on Bangladesh Television, BTV News, and BTV World.
Prior to this, a meeting of the Advisory Council was held at the Chief Adviser’s Tejgaon office in the capital, chaired by Muhammad Yunus. The meeting discussed the procedures for implementing the July National Charter.
