Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus inaugurated the Digital Device and Innovation Expo 2026 on Wednesday at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Centre (BCFCC) in the capital.
During the opening ceremony, Yunus also launched the website and logo of the ‘Bangladesh Innovation Challenge’.
The four-day technology showcase, themed ‘Bangladesh to the World’, is being jointly organised by the ICT Division, the Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park Authority (BHTPA), and the Bangladesh Computer Samity (BCS). The event is scheduled to continue until 31 January.
The proceedings began with the screening of a documentary on future digital innovation titled ‘Create Here, Connect Everywhere’.
Faiz Ahmad Taiyeb, special assistant to the chief adviser for Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology, addressed the gathering as the special guest, with ICT Division Secretary Shish Haider Chowdhury presiding over the function.
Welcome addresses were delivered by BHTPA Managing Director Md Mamunur Rashid Bhuiyan and BCS President Mohammad Zahirul Islam.
Following the formal inauguration, the chief adviser toured the expo premises. The exhibition is designed to attract technological innovation, enhance sectoral capabilities, and encourage investment. The event features displays of digital devices, mobile technology, and e-sports, while offering various product discounts to visitors.
The expo’s itinerary includes five seminars and four panel discussions. These sessions will cover critical topics such as digital transformation, global investment, the startup ecosystem, and the national equipment identity register.
Furthermore, experts will discuss financing, digital devices for students, deep-tech value chains, manufacturing and export visions, and inclusive digital transformation.
As a major platform for showcasing state-of-the-art technologies from industries and universities, the venue has been made fully Wi-Fi enabled using satellite internet technology. Entry is open to all through online or on-site registration.
