A video showing an unidentified youth firing several rounds after an altercation over parking a private car in front of Bhanga Highway Police Station in Faridpur has gone viral on social media.
The incident occurred on the Dhaka–Khulna highway around 11:30pm Monday, triggering panic among residents and pedestrians.
Two people were injured as crowds ran for safety, local resident Hasan Amin said. The youth’s identity could not be immediately confirmed.
The 26‑second clip has since spread widely on Facebook.
Hasan Amin said a young man and woman travelling from Dhaka to Gopalganj stopped in front of the police station to have tea.
When locals asked the driver to park the car to the side, an argument broke out. During the dispute, the youth was seen firing several rounds from a pistol.
Faridpur Additional Superintendent of Police (Bhanga Circle) Md Rezwan Dipu said he was not aware of the incident. “I can provide detailed information after looking into the matter,” he added.
