Actor Yash Rohan, who has built a successful career across television, films and OTT platforms, has opened up about the painful bullying he endured during his school years.
Speaking on Maasranga Television’s Behind the Fame with RRK, the actor described his school life as one of the darkest chapters of his life.
“My school life was very bad. It was very traumatic. I was the boy who was shorter than everyone else and looked more immature than my classmates. From a very young age, I was bullied a lot,” Yash said.
The Paran actor admitted that he still does not know why he became a target of bullying. According to him, bullying often happens without any specific reason.
“That’s the thing about bullying. There’s often no reason why someone becomes a target. But I was bullied regularly at school and in class,” he said.
Yash believes awareness about bullying has improved significantly in recent years. Schools, colleges and universities now take the issue more seriously than they did during his childhood.
“Now there’s much more awareness about bullying. Many schools and universities have become stricter, although not all institutions deal with it properly. Private universities, in particular, are more serious about controlling it. When I was in school, there was no awareness at all. We didn’t even know what bullying was,” he added.
Despite his success in the entertainment industry, Yash said those painful memories still haunt him.
“I suffered a lot at school. My school life was terrible. People often talk about their school memories, but I don’t have any happy memories from that time,” he said.
Yash began his acting career with television dramas before making his big-screen debut in Swapnajaal.
He later earned acclaim for performances in films such as Paran, alongside numerous television dramas and web productions.
Born into an acting family, Yash is the son of veteran actors Naresh Bhuiyan and Shilpi Sarkar Apu.
Although he has established himself as one of the country’s promising actors, he says the bullying he experienced during his school years remains the most painful chapter of his life.
