Miscreants stabbed a woman to death at her home in Ukhiya, Cox’s Bazar.
Ukhiya Police Station Inspector (Investigation) Md Nasir Uddin confirmed the matter and said the incident took place on Wednesday in the Mocha Khola area of Palongkhali Union under Ukhiya upazila.
The deceased, Jazida Akter, 25, was the wife of Md Shafiqul Islam. He works as a day labourer and was not at home during the incident.
However, conflicting statements have emerged from the victim’s in-laws and her parental family regarding the incident.
Inspector said police visited the scene after receiving information about the killing in the morning. They are investigating the incident.
The body has been sent to Cox’s Bazar District Sadar Hospital morgue for an autopsy.
