Md Wahiduzzaman Sardar has been promoted to director (Research) at Bangladesh Bank, having previously served as an additional director.
The central bank’s Human Resources Department One issued an official notification on Thursday, 1 January, confirming the promotion.
Wahiduzzaman joined Bangladesh Bank in two thousand one as an assistant director in the Research Department, where he worked until two thousand five across the Domestic Economy and Islamic Economics subdivisions. During this period, his work focused on inflation, agricultural and rural credit, and the expanding Islamic banking sector.
In two thousand five, he moved to the Monetary Policy Department and served there for eighteen years. During his tenure, he made notable contributions to Open Market Operations and the Financial Reporting and Analysis Wing.
In addition to his publications, Wahiduzzaman has been closely involved in research projects examining the socioeconomic conditions of savings certificate holders and assessing the impact of mobile banking on the domestic economy.
