Spectrum Software and Consulting (Pvt.) Ltd. (SSCL) has become the first technology company from Bangladesh to be listed as a TradeTrust-Ready Partner. The recognition marks a step in the country’s transition towards paperless international trade, enabling electronic trade documents to be securely issued, transferred and independently verified.
TradeTrust is a digital trade framework developed by Singapore’s Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA).
The recognition follows Bangladesh Bank’s (BB) issuance of FEPD-1 Circular No. 15 on 1 July.
The circular introduced a pilot framework for the digital processing of trade documents under documentary collections and Letters of Credit (LCs) through approved trade corridors. It emphasises interoperability, technology neutrality, independent verification, data privacy and the legal reliability of electronic trade documents.
SSCL has developed solutions in trade finance, supply chain finance, artificial intelligence, document intelligence and enterprise automation. Its offerings include GreenLC, a digital trade platform, and SpectraTrade, an LC automation solution.
Prior to the latest regulatory initiative, SSCL engaged more than 10 leading Bangladeshi banks to explore the digitisation of LC and trade-document processes. The initiative provided practical experience in addressing the technological, interoperability and institutional challenges of building a connected digital trade ecosystem.
BB’s framework encourages the use of digital trade platforms and technology service providers that support interoperability and independent verification while avoiding vendor lock-in.
