Veteran actor Baidya Nath Saha has passed away at the age of 73, colleagues confirmed. He died on the evening of March 3 at a hospital in Jashore, where he had been receiving treatment for age-related health issues, according to Rashed Mamun Apu, general secretary of Actors Equity Bangladesh.
Saha began his career in theatre in Jashore before transitioning to television in the 1980s. He gained recognition for his performances in popular TV dramas including ‘Nodi Theke Somudre’, ‘E Madhur Khela’ and ‘Shrabone Boshonto’, and became widely known for his role in the serial ‘Lal Nil Beguni’.
In addition to television, Saha appeared in several Bangladeshi films and short films, including ‘Adam’ (2023), ‘Damal’ (2022) and the short ‘Sultan’ (2018). His work also spanned TV movies and music videos, earning him a respected place in the entertainment industry.
