The US Embassy in Dhaka has issued an advisory urging visa applicants to schedule their interview appointments in their country of nationality or residence.
Applicants were cautioned that applying for visas in a third country significantly increases the risk of rejection, and any fees paid in such cases are non‑refundable.
The embassy disclosed the information in a post on its verified Facebook page on Sunday morning.
In addition, the embassy has introduced a mandatory requirement for travelers to list all social media handles used over the past five years on their application forms.
Officials warned that providing false information or concealing online profiles could result in immediate visa denial and permanent ineligibility for future entry into the United States.
