A political officer from the United States Embassy in Dhaka has paid a courtesy call on the spokesperson of the National Citizen Party (NCP), Asif Mahmud Shojib Bhuiyan.
James Stewart, political officer at the US Embassy, met the NCP spokesperson on Wednesday at the party’s Dhaka office.
The meeting featured an exchange of views on the current overall situation in the country, with both sides underscoring the importance of further strengthening Bangladesh-US bilateral relations.
Stewart was accompanied by Md Iqbal Mahmud, assistant political specialist at the US Embassy.
On behalf of the NCP, Central Committee Member Ayman Rahat was also present.
Following the discussion, Asif Mahmud escorted the US Embassy delegation on a tour of the party office.
