United States Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs S Paul Kapur is scheduled to arrive in Dhaka on Tuesday for a two-day visit aimed at deepening strategic and economic ties between the US and Bangladesh.
During his stay, Kapur will hold discussions with senior officials of the newly formed government as well as leading business figures, according to a statement issued on Monday by Poornima Rai, spokesperson for the US Embassy in Dhaka.
The visit will focus on expanding bilateral trade and investment opportunities, strengthening security cooperation, and promoting shared objectives in the Indo-Pacific region.
Kapur, who took office as Assistant Secretary for South and Central Asian Affairs on 22 October, 2025, is currently on leave from the United States Naval Postgraduate School, where he served as a professor in the Department of National Security Affairs.
