Unilever units give Tk7.59cr to workers’ welfare fund

Unilever Bangladesh Limited (UBL) and Unilever Consumer Care Limited (UCL) have recently contributed a combined Tk75,926,893 to Bangladesh Workers’ Welfare Foundation Fund to support the welfare of workers and their families across the country.

UBL contributed Tk70,758,520 and UCL contributed Tk5,168,373. The funds were handed over through two separate cheques to Minister of Labour and Employment Ariful Haque Chowdhury.

The cheques were handed over by UBL CEO and MD Ruhul Quddus Khan, UBL HR Director Syeda Durdana Kabir and UCL MD Mohammad Naharul Islam Molla. Senior officials from both organisations were present, said a press release on Wednesday.

Bangladesh Workers’ Welfare Foundation provides financial assistance for medical treatment, education and emergency needs of workers and their families.
