United Commercial Bank PLC (UCB) on Sunday inaugurated a new branch in Mirzapur, Tangail, expanding its footprint to deliver modern and reliable banking services to local customers.
The bank said in a press release that the branch was formally inaugurated by UCB Managing Director and CEO Mohammad Mamdudur Rashid.
Tangail-7 Member of Parliament Abul Kalam Azad Siddiqui attended the ceremony as the chief guest. UCB Audit Committee Chairman Obaidur Rahman, along with local dignitaries, business leaders and officials from the bank’s head office and nearby branches, were present.
The branch began operations in a festive atmosphere.
Speaking at the event, Mamdudur Rashid said Mirzapur is a historically and culturally significant area, home to institutions such as Kumudini Hospital, Bharateswari Homes and Mirzapur Cadet College, which have contributed to education, healthcare and humanitarian services.
He said the launch of UCB’s operations in the area would help strengthen the local economy and improve access to quality financial services.
He added that the bank is committed to gradually expanding modern banking services across the country.
Through the new branch, customers will be able to access deposit schemes, loan facilities, remittance services and digital banking solutions, the bank said.
