The Cabinet Division on Wednesday issued separate gazettes regarding the appointment of two advisers to the Prime Minister to ministerial roles and the redistribution of portfolios for eight state ministers.
According to the gazettes, Nazrul Islam Khan, political adviser to the prime minister, will now also serve as the adviser to the Ministry of Agriculture. Similarly, Ruhul Kabir Rizvi Ahmed, also a political adviser, has been given charge of the Ministry of Industries.
Among the state ministers, Shariful Alam will now exclusively serve as state minister for Textiles and Jute.
Sultan Salahuddin Tuku, who previously held the portfolios for Agriculture, Food, and Fisheries and Livestock, has been assigned solely to the Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock.
Regarding the ministries of Road Transport and Bridges, Railways, and Shipping, Habibur Rashid has been given responsibility for the Ministry of Railways and the Road Transport and Highways Division.
Meanwhile, Rajiv Ahsan has been appointed to the Ministry of Shipping and the Bridges Division.
Zonayed Saki, formerly the state minister for Finance and Planning, has been assigned only to the Ministry of Planning. Farzana Sharmin, who previously oversaw Social Welfare and the Ministry of Women and Children Affairs, will now serve only as the state minister for Social Welfare.
Additionally, Nurul Haque Nur has been assigned exclusively to the Ministry of Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment; he previously held the Ministry of Labour as well.
Bobby Hajjaj, who was also a state minister for the Ministry of Education, has now been given charge only of the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education.
