The bodies of a grandmother and her two grandchildren were recovered from a rented house in the city’s Sonadanga area on Saturday evening, police said.
The deceased were identified as Baby, 65, and her grandsons Shamim Bepari, 12, and Mostakim, 4. The bodies were found in a house in Darul Aman Mahalla, adjacent to Suzuki Corner in Sonadanga.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md Rafiqul Islam of Sonadanga Police Station said preliminary investigations suggest the two murders may have resulted from a family dispute.
“We have recovered the bodies of the grandmother and her two grandsons. However, police have yet to determine the exact motive behind the killings,” the OC said.
A team of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has started collecting evidence from the scene, he added.
The bodies are being prepared for autopsy as an investigation continues to uncover the real cause of the incident.
