Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) have arrested two persons in connection with the attack on Mohammad Rezwan, a member of the July Rebels.
The arrested suspects have been identified as Md Masum and Fahim Khan.
According to Uttara East Police Station sources, a group of miscreants attacked Rezwan in sector 6 of the area, leaving him injured around 7:30pm on Saturday.
He was immediately taken to a nearby private hospital where he received necessary treatment.
Police conducted operations across the city to arrest the attackers.
As part of this effort, around 5:30am on Sunday, police carried out a raid in Dakkhinkhan area of Dhaka, arresting the two individuals named in the case.
Police investigations are ongoing to ensure a thorough inquiry into the incident and to detain other suspects involved in the case.
