US President Donald Trump reported more than $1bn (£750m) in income last year from cryptocurrency ventures, according to his mandatory 2025 financial disclosure, BBC reports.
The 927‑page filing listed $635m in royalties from a Trump meme coin, which has since plunged in value, and more than $500m from World Liberty Financial, a crypto firm founded by his sons and the children of envoy Steve Witkoff.
He also recorded millions from real estate and Trump‑branded merchandise.
The White House denied that Trump was profiting from the presidency, stressing he had placed his businesses in a trust managed by his sons and rejecting any suggestion of conflicts of interest.
Officials said the president considered the US to have become the “crypto capital of the world” under his leadership and insisted all administration actions were taken in the public interest. They dismissed criticism as a recycled narrative from political opponents and the media.
Trump, who once derided Bitcoin as a scam and a disaster, now earns more from crypto than from his real estate empire.
His disclosure showed $77m from Mar‑a‑Lago, $122m from his Doral golf club, and more than $30m each from clubs in Bedminster, Jupiter, and Turnberry.
Other ventures brought in millions, including $4.7m from Trump‑branded watches, along with sales of Bibles, trainers, fragrances, and guitars.
First Lady Melania Trump also reported $10.7m in income from a licensing deal tied to a documentary about her released last year.
