The International Crimes Tribunal-1 has set 12 April for submitting the investigation report against former lawmaker ABM Fazle Karim Chowdhury of Chattogram-6 in a case filed over alleged crimes against humanity during the July-August mass uprising.
The date was fixed on Monday during proceedings at the tribunal.
Other accused in the case include former commissioner of Chattogram Metropolitan Police Saiful Islam and Jubo League leaders Azizur Rahman, Towhidul Islam, and Md Firoz.
All the accused have been arrested and are currently in jail. They were produced before the tribunal for the hearing.
According to the prosecution, the accused are facing allegations of involvement in the killings of several individuals, including Chhatra Dal leader Wasim, during the uprising. The investigation into the incidents is ongoing.
Earlier, on 8 April, 2025, defence lawyer M Abdul Kaiyum filed a bail petition for Fazle Karim, which was rejected by the tribunal.
He was later shown arrested in the case and sent to jail on 16 February of the same year.
