A court in Dhaka has imposed a travel ban on Mohammad Abu Noman, the business partner of former minister AHM Mustafa Kamal.

On Wednesday, Judge Md Sabbir Faiz of the Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge’s Court passed the order in response to an application filed by ACC Director Md Abul Hasnat.

The ACC application stated that an investigation is ongoing against Mohammad Abu Noman, business partner of AHM Mustafa Kamal and his daughter Nafisa Kamal, regarding allegations related to the permanent closure of all his medical check-up centres and the nationalisation of assets.

The application further stated that he regularly travels abroad, spends most of the year overseas, and may hold multiple citizenships. It has been alleged that he is attempting to leave the country, which could disrupt the ongoing investigation proceedings.
