The Bandarban district administration has extended the restriction on tourist travel until 15 July as heavy rainfall and adverse weather conditions continue to pose risks in the hill district.
The decision was confirmed by the tourism branch of the Bandarban Deputy Commissioner’s Office on Friday evening.
A public notice issued in this regard was signed by Deputy Commissioner and District Magistrate Md Samiul Ferdous.
The notice said the restriction period was extended due to the continued heavy rainfall, which has created risks to road connectivity and public movement in the district.
Earlier, the district administration issued a notice on 6 July restricting tourist movement in Bandarban until 10 July amid deteriorating weather conditions.
The restriction was later extended until 12 July through another notice issued on 8 July.
The latest extension will remain effective until 15 July, with authorities urging visitors to avoid travelling to the district until weather conditions improve.
