A convicted prisoner serving a sentence at Chuadanga District Jail has died while undergoing treatment at Chuadanga Sadar Hospital.
The deceased was identified as Anwar Hossain, 64.
Jailor of Chuadanga District Jail Md Sakhawat Hossain confirmed the incident.
According to jail and hospital sources, Anwar was sentenced by a court to two years of imprisonment in a case.
He was taken to Chuadanga District Jail on 30 September 2026.
While serving his sentence, Anwar suddenly experienced severe chest pain.
Jail authorities promptly arranged his transfer to Chuadanga Sadar Hospital under their supervision, where he passed away while receiving treatment.
