Formal charges have been submitted against former Inspector General of Police (IGP) AKM Shahidul Haque and nine others over alleged crimes against humanity in connection with the killing of seven people in Gazipur in 2016 after branding them as militants.
Former top police officials, including Mohammad Javed Patwary, Md Asaduzzaman Mia, Md Monirul Islam, and Harun-or-Rashid, have also been made accused in the case.
The charges were submitted to the International Crimes Tribunal, said Prosecutor Gazi MH Tamim.
The prosecution has claimed that the killing of seven young people in Gazipur in 2016, after labeling them as militants, amounts to crimes against humanity.
