Three members of a family sustained burn injuries in an explosion apparently caused by a gas line leak at a house in Kachua upazila of Chandpur on Wednesday morning.
The injured were identified as Khadiza, 30, Mahmudul, 35, and Sheuli Akter, 40, all residents of the upazila.
The explosion occurred around 8:30 am at the house, leaving the three injured.
They were later taken to the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery in Dhaka for treatment.
National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery Resident Medical Officer Dr Shaon Bin Rahman said Khadiza sustained 35 per cent burn injuries, while Mahmudul and Sheuli suffered 4 per cent and 2 per cent burns respectively.
He said Khadiza’s condition was critical.
