Three people were killed and two others, including a motorcyclist, were injured in two separate motorcycle accidents in Gazipur on Saturday night.
Police said the identities of the deceased and the injured are yet to be confirmed.
The first incident occurred around 11:30pm on the Dhaka–Mymensingh highway in the Rajendrapur area under Gazipur Metropolitan Sadar Police Station. A motorcycle crashed, resulting in the deaths of two people on the spot. Police recovered the bodies and sent them to Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmad Medical College Hospital morgue.
The second accident took place around midnight near the Bangladesh Rice Research Institute on the Shibbari–Chandna Chowrasta road, also under Gazipur Sadar Police Station. A private car collided with a motorcycle carrying three people. One person was killed instantly, while two others were injured and taken to the same hospital for treatment.
Legal action is being taken in both cases, said Mehedi Hasan, Officer-in-Charge of Gazipur Sadar Police Station.
