The music of ‘The Legend of Zelda’ has received a classical makeover with the release of a new album, Zelda Classics. Video game music label GameChops collaborated with The Sixth Station Trio to reinterpret 16 iconic tracks from the beloved franchise using piano, cello and violin.
GameChops described the album as a blend of emotion and storytelling, with arrangements that balance delicacy and power while giving each melody space to resonate. The collection includes fan favourites such as ‘Breath of the Wild’, ‘Song of Storms’, ‘Ocarina of Time’ and ‘Zelda’s Lullaby’.
The Sixth Station Trio’s pianist, Katelyn Tan, said the album was designed to merge a love for video game music with classical traditions. She added that each arrangement preserves elements of the original compositions while incorporating influences from the trio’s classical training.
Zelda Classics is available to stream now, with a vinyl release scheduled for October. To mark the album’s debut, the trio has shared a full live performance video on YouTube.
Meanwhile, a live-action The Legend of Zelda film is currently filming in New Zealand and is set for release in May 2027.
