At least 14 members of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) have been killed after unexploded ordnance detonated in Iran, Times of Israel reports citing local media.
The blast reportedly involved leftover munitions from strikes carried out during the recent war against Iran. The explosion occurred near the northern city of Zanjan, located northwest of Tehran, a report by the Nournews website said.
Nournews, which is believed to be close to Iran’s security establishment, said the explosion was triggered by ammunition including cluster bombs and air mines dropped during the fighting.
This marks the highest number of IRGC personnel reported killed since the ceasefire came into effect on 7 April.
