A teenager was allegedly stabbed to death by miscreants in Dhaka’s Jatrabari area on Sunday night.
The deceased, Mahim Mia, 15, was a student at a madrasa in the area. Mahim, originally from Kishoreganj Sadar upazila, was the son of Din Islam and had been living in Kajla, Jatrabari.
The incident occurred around 10pm in Kajla School Lane. Mahim was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital in critical condition, where doctors declared him dead around 11:30pm.
His brother-in-law, Md Rafi, said a group of teenagers attacked Mahim with knives, but he could not say what led to the assault.
Inspector Md Faruk, in charge of the DMCH police camp, said the body has been kept at the hospital morgue for autopsy. Jatrabari police have been informed of the incident.
