A teenage boy was killed after a truck collided with his motorcycle near the Colony Market area in the capital’s Tejgaon on Wednesday evening.

The deceased Nayan Sardar, 17, son of Abdul Ali Sardar, hailing from Kishanganj village in Haimchar Upazila, Chandpur.

The family currently resides in the Begunbari Bibirghat area of Tejgaon.

The victim’s father, Abdul Ali, stated at the hospital that the accident occurred while Nayan was riding his motorcycle from home to the garage where he worked.

A lorry hit the motorcycle in front of the Orion Pharmaceuticals building, leaving him critically injured.
Following the accident, local residents stopped the vehicle.

The lorry staff subsequently transported the injured teenager to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH), where attending doctors declared him dead at approximately 9pm.

The family was notified of the accident via telephone by the vehicle’s staff.

Inspector Md Faruk, in-charge of the DMCH police camp, confirmed the death and noted that the body has been sent to hospital morgue. The relevant police station is currently investigating the incident
