Police have recovered the hanging body of a teenage girl from her home in Muksudpur upazila of Gopalganj on Tuesday morning.
The deceased was identified as Monia Akter, daughter of Alam Sheikh of Sultan Dighirpar village under Gobindapur Union.
Police said Monia may have taken her own life sometime before dawn following an altercation with her parents. Her mother later found her hanging and raised an alarm.
Officer-in-Charge of Muksudpur Police Station Abdullah Al Mamun said police recovered the body after being informed and prepared an inquest report.
The body was sent to the morgue of Gopalganj 250-bed General Hospital for an autopsy.
He added that legal procedures are underway and the exact cause of death will be confirmed after the post-mortem examination.
