Bangladesh fast bowler Taskin Ahmed has been ruled out of the upcoming Odommo Bangladesh T20 Cup because he is sick.
Taskin shared the news in a post on his official Facebook page. He said he is suffering from a sinus infection. Because of this, he cannot take part in the tournament organised by the Bangladesh Cricket Board.
In his message, Taskin wished good luck to the players who will play in the cup. He also thanked everyone for their support. He said he hopes to get better soon and return to the field with the help of Allah and everyone’s prayers.
Taskin was expected to play an important role for Dhumketu XI in the competition. His absence is a blow for his team and for fans, as he is one of Bangladesh’s leading fast bowlers in T20 cricket.
The Odommo Bangladesh T20 Cup begins on February 5 at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka. Three teams are competing in the event. These are Dhumketu XI, Durbar XI, and Duronto XI. Each team will play the others in a round-robin stage. The top two teams will meet in a final to decide the champion.
The tournament aims to give local players more competitive T20 cricket at home in 2026. Prize money and player fees have been set to make the competition strong and exciting for fans and players alike.
