BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman and Chief Patron of “Amra BNP Paribar,” has expressed solidarity with the family of Ashraful, who was killed during the 2024 student-led mass uprising.
Ashraful died on Sunday while undergoing treatment in the intensive care unit of the National Institute of Neurosciences and Hospital in the capital.
During the mass movement on 5 August, Ashraful sustained a gunshot wound to the head in the Mirpur-10 area. He received medical treatment in Thailand for 14 months and was repatriated to Bangladesh on 4 February 2026, where he remained in the ICU of the National Institute of Neurosciences until his demise.
On behalf of the BNP Chairperson, Agriculturist Moksedul Momin Mithun, the Member Secretary of “Amra BNP Paribar,” visited the bereaved family. During the visit, Mithun conveyed a message of sympathy from Tarique Rahman.
Mithun provided the necessary financial assistance for the burial and expressed a commitment to remain by the family’s side in the future.
