After 17 long years, Tarique Rahman has finally reached his own home in Gulshan.
After meeting his ailing mother, BNP’s acting chairman Tarique Rahman has left Evercare Hospital for house number 196 in Gulshan. His wife, Zubaida Rahman, and daughter, Zaima Rahman, were with him at this time. They departed around 7:30pm on Thursday.
Tarique Rahman left the stage of the public reception program around 5pm on Thursday. After that, he set out for Evercare Hospital. He arrived at the hospital at 5:50pm.
Meanwhile, from morning, BNP and like-minded parties’ leaders and activists had taken position at the hospital gate, anticipating Tarique Rahman’s arrival. Unrestrained enthusiasm was seen among workers and supporters as the vehicle carrying Tarique Rahman entered the hospital compound, breaching the security cordon.
At this time, party workers and leaders, holding party flags and festoons, continued chanting various slogans although the party had instructed against chanting slogans in the Evercare Hospital area.
Earlier, at 12:35pm, he set out by road from the airport in a special bus towards the 300-Feet area. Party leaders and workers welcomed him by waving from both sides of the road.
The BNP leader Tarique Rahman reached the stage after 3 hours and 15 minutes. Before that, the flight carrying Tarique Rahman had landed at Shahjalal Airport at 11:45am.
After completing immigration procedures, party Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir first welcomed Tarique Rahman with flowers at the VIP lounge of the airport. Later, the BNP acting chairman hugged Mirza Fakhrul and Standing Committee members one by one. Additionally, he exchanged pleasantries with the leaders present.
Thereafter, Tarique Rahman was welcomed with floral garlands by his mother-in-law. At this time, his wife Zubaida Rahman and daughter Zaima Rahman, along with other family members residing in the country, were with him.
