Popular singer Tanzin Mithila recently appeared as a guest on a Mohona TV programme hosted by presenter Nusrat Jahan, where she performed several classic Bengali songs.
Mohona TV played an important role in Mithila’s early music career.
At a time when she was not widely known, the channel gave her opportunities to perform on various programmes.
Despite her busy schedule today, Mithila continues to respond warmly to invitations from the channel.
On 8 August, she appeared on a morning programme hosted by Nusrat Jahan and performed several songs from earlier generations, including ‘Tomar Khola Hawa’, ‘Ki Name Deke Bolbo Tomake’, ‘Bolchi Tomar Kane Kane’, ‘Akash Megh-e Dhaka’, ‘Monero Range Rangabo’, ‘Tumi Mishti Kore Dushtu Bolo’, ‘Oi Jhinuk Phota Sagar Bela’ and ‘Aj Mon Cheyechhe Ami Hariye Jabo’.
Speaking about her association with Mohona TV, Mithila said, “I have had a special affection for Mohona TV since the beginning of my music career. When very few people knew me as a singer, the channel repeatedly invited me to perform on different programmes. That is why, no matter how busy I become, I always try to respond to invitations from Mohona TV.”
Nusrat Jahan said, “I have been presenting programmes on Mohona TV for a long time. I really enjoyed hearing Mithila sing those classic songs. Her voice is very sweet and melodious, which made the programme even more special.”
Alongside Mohona TV, Nusrat also presents programmes on several satellite channels and Bangladesh Television.
Meanwhile, Mithila is preparing to release several new original songs. One of them has been written and composed by Abhi Moinuddin.
She also lent her voice to ‘Our Dream Girl’, released on The Best Twenty Four YouTube channel on 30 July to mark actress Bobita’s birthday.
Rashed, Shan, Joy, Shapla and Raisa also contributed vocals to the song.
