Singer Tahsan Khan has taken his fans by surprise with the sudden announcement of his retirement from music during a live concert in Australia. Since then, he has chosen not to reveal the reasons behind his decision.
On Sunday evening, Tahsan attended a technology-based event in the capital, where he was asked about his retirement. There, a reporter asked him, “You are currently at the center of discussion. Everyone knows you’ve announced your retirement from singing and your fans are heartbroken. Do you want to say anything about it? Is this your final decision?”
In response, Tahsan said, “I don’t think this is the right platform to talk about it. People often take a part of what I say and turn it into another story. So I have to be very careful. But I will share one thing: many years ago, my brother told me, ‘The time for musicians in the industry is very limited. Why take the risk?’ Back then, I had left my job at Lever Brothers (now Unilever) to work on my first album.”
He added, “My brother used to say, ‘The lifespan of any artist is short. If you choose this path, be prepared to come back again.’ I took that as inspiration. An artist’s life may be short, but the art they create can live on long after they are gone.”
Tahsan further said, “I thought I should continue working as long as I have people’s love. Because, in other professions, retirement is a natural process. But in this field, people forget at some point. So I believe it is better to say goodbye while still being loved by the people than to leave with the wound of being forgotten.”
