More than a month after the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) concluded, two franchises have cleared outstanding player payments, providing much-needed relief ahead of the next season.

On Sunday, Noakhali Express and Sylhet Titans settled all pending salaries, with funds drawn from deposits held by the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB). Despite the settlement, players from Dhaka Capitals are yet to receive their arrears.

Sylhet captain Mehidy Hasan Miraz spoke to the media following the payment, expressing satisfaction at the resolution.

He added that all teams appeared to have received their dues and praised the move as positive for the tournament.

“As far as I know, every team has been paid. Today Sylhet also received their payment, and every player is very happy. This year’s BPL has been a very good tournament,” he added.

Miraz also acknowledged the role of the BPL governing council and its member secretary in ensuring a smooth process.

“Those who were in the BPL governing council… Mithu bhai worked very hard, I have seen that. He spoke with every team regarding the payments and completed every necessary process properly,” Miraz said.
