A student was injured after a ceiling fan fell on his head during a lesson at Police Lines School and College, Pabna on Thursday morning.
The injured student has been identified as Tamjid, 10, a grade V student.
Mahbub Alam, the acting headmaster of Police Lines School and College, confirmed the incident.
According to school sources, the incident took place around 10:35am. The class had resumed at 10:20 am following the tiffin break when the fan suddenly detached and fell directly onto Tamjid.
He sustained a head injury in the accident. Teachers immediately transported him to Pabna General Hospital, where he received primary treatment.
Mahbub said, “We immediately took the child to the hospital for primary treatment. We have provided the necessary prescriptions and medicine and handed him over to his guardians.”
He further noted that the injury was not critical and that the student’s father had no complaints regarding the accident.
Addressing safety concerns, Mahbub added, “We regularly inspect the school’s electrical equipment. Since this accident has occurred, all fans will be re-checked, and the broken fan will be replaced with a new one.”
