Police detained 370 people in an anti‑teen gang operation across eight upazilas of Chandpur on Sunday.
Additional Superintendent of Police (Administration) Nadira Nur confirmed the development.
Nadira said the operation was jointly conducted by police and detectives under the directive of Chattogram Range DIG Abdul Quddus Chowdhury and led by Chandpur Superintendent of Police Md Mizanur Rahman.
According to district police sources, 35 were detained in Chandpur Sadar, 48 in Haimchar, 41 in Faridganj, 37 in Hajiganj, 62 in Kachua, 45 in Shahrasti, 52 in Matlab North, and 36 in Matlab South. DB police detained another 14 from different parts of the district.
Of those held, 355 were released to their families, while information on the remaining 15 is still being verified.
SP Mizanur told reporters that such operations will continue to curb teen gangs and prevent crime.
