Fox has unveiled the expanded voice cast for Stewie, the upcoming Family Guy spin-off centred on the franchise’s iconic baby genius, as production moves ahead following its two-season order, writes Variety.
Joining series creator Seth MacFarlane and longtime Family Guy cast member Mike Henry are Kenan Thompson, Vanessa Bayer, Melissa O’Neil, Aaron Lee, and Jessica Lowe, Variety has confirmed.
Originally announced in March, Stewie will premiere as Family Guy enters its 25th season on Fox.
According to the official synopsis, the animated comedy follows Stewie Griffin after he is expelled from his preschool and forced to attend a new, far less prestigious school.
There, he meets an eccentric group of classmates, including an elderly turtle with unusual theories about life and a teacher who appears ill-suited to supervising children.
Determined to escape the monotony of school life, Stewie uses his inventions to transport his classmates through space and time, turning ordinary school days into extraordinary adventures.
The newly announced cast members will voice several original characters:
Kenan Thompson plays Royal, one of Stewie’s adventurous new friends.
Vanessa Bayer voices Morgan, Stewie’s carefree teacher.
Mike Henry portrays BJ, the son of Family Guy character Bruce and one of Stewie’s classmates.
Jessica Lowe voices Caroline, an aspiring influencer and Stewie’s classroom rival.
Melissa O’Neil plays Wanda, Stewie’s intellectual equal and love interest.
Aaron Lee voices Skunk, the classroom’s century-old turtle known for his unconventional theories.
MacFarlane will also voice Bean, one of Stewie’s quiet classmates, in addition to reprising his role as Stewie Griffin.
The series was created by Seth MacFarlane and Kirker Butler, who also serves as showrunner and executive producer alongside Kara Vallow.
The project is produced by 20th Television Animation.
The spin-off marks the latest expansion of the long-running Family Guy universe, placing one of its most popular characters at the centre of an original adventure while introducing a host of new personalities to the franchise.
