A sponsor of Southeast Bank is planning to sell nearly half of her stake in the bank, as she moves to offload 10 lakh shares worth about Tk1.07 crore at the current market price.
Sponsor Rehana Kashem has announced plans to sell the shares through the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) at the prevailing market price, according to a disclosure filed with the DSE on Sunday.
Kashem currently holds 21.43 lakh shares in Southeast Bank. The proposed sale represents around 46.66 per cent of her holdings and will reduce her stake to about 11.43 lakh shares after completion.
The shares will be sold through the public market within the next 30 working days, the disclosure said.
Southeast Bank shares closed 0.94 per cent higher at Tk10.70 on Sunday, compared with the previous closing price of Tk10.60. The stock traded between Tk10.60 and Tk10.90 during the session.
