Shahjalal Islami Bank Securities Limited has elected Khandaker Sakib Ahmed as chairman at its 92nd board meeting held on 8 April 2026, while Mohiuddin Ahmed was re-elected and Md Jafar Sadeq was elected as vice-chairmen.
Khandaker Sakib Ahmed, born in 1975 in Dhaka district, is a sponsor and director of Shahjalal Islami Bank PLC. He holds an MBA and brings more than three decades of business experience.
He serves as chairman of Own the World Company Limited, Own the World Hajj and Umrah Limited and Intech Limited, and is a director of AQUA Consultants and Associates Ltd. He is also a shareholder of Millennium Information Solution Limited and a partner of Innovio IT.
Beyond business, he is involved in education and social initiatives. He is a member of the governing bodies of Eastern University and Al-Azhar International Grammar School, a director of Hurdco International School, and is associated with Mizbahul Uloom Model Madrasa. He is also an honorary member of the Rotary Club of Banani in Dhaka and has travelled widely for business purposes.
Mohiuddin Ahmed, re-elected as vice-chairman, was born in 1955 in Bangshal in Old Dhaka and has more than four decades of business experience.
He is the proprietor of Rupsha Trading Corporation and Mohiuddin Auto House, and chairman of Pecific Automobiles. He also serves as vice-chairman of Shahjalal Islami Bank PLC and is a sponsor shareholder of Islami Insurance Bangladesh Ltd.
His previous roles include vice-chairman and governing body member of Southeast University, as well as director of the Bangladesh Chamber of Industries. He has long been engaged in social welfare initiatives, particularly in education and health, and has travelled extensively for business.
Md Jafar Sadeq, the newly elected vice-chairman, is Deputy Managing Director and Chief Financial Officer of Shahjalal Islami Bank PLC. A fellow chartered accountant of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh, he began his career in 2002 at Hoda Vasi Chowdhury Chartered Accountants, gaining experience in auditing, financial control, regulatory compliance and corporate governance.
He later joined One Bank PLC before moving to Shahjalal Islami Bank PLC in 2006, where he has played a key role in strengthening financial governance and supporting strategic growth.
He was appointed chief financial officer in 2015 and later promoted to deputy managing director. With more than 20 years of experience in banking, his expertise spans financial planning and analysis, taxation, regulatory reporting, capital planning, asset-liability management, risk oversight and capital markets.
