A documentary on the life, musical journey and artistic philosophy of veteran singer Syed Abdul Hadi will be broadcast on July 1st, marking his 86th birthday, with media personality Shykh Seraj bringing together stories from the legendary artist’s long career.
Titled ‘Golpo Achhe Ekhane…’, the interview-based documentary explores various lesser-known chapters of Syed Abdul Hadi’s life, including his struggles, achievements and contributions to Bangladeshi music.
The programme features the celebrated singer reflecting on his childhood, his journey in music, the evolution of Bangladesh’s music industry and his views on contemporary artistic practice. It also highlights the stories behind some of his most popular songs, the relationship between music and society, and the experiences gained during his decades-long career.
Speaking about the project, Shykh Seraj said Syed Abdul Hadi is not only a popular singer but also an important part of Bangladesh’s cultural history.
“His songs are deeply connected with personal memories, social change and the emotions of a nation. This initiative aims to present the experiences and philosophy of a living legend to the younger generation,” he said.
Shykh Seraj previously directed documentaries on Raj Razzak titled ‘Rajadhiraj Razzak’ and on Sabina Yasmin titled ‘Juiful Sabina’.
‘Golpo Achhe Ekhane…’ will be aired on Channel i at 5:15 pm on Syed Abdul Hadi’s 86th birthday, July 1st.
