The death of Sharif Osman Hadi, a frontline figure of the July mass uprising and spokesperson of Inqilab Moncho, has cast a pall of grief across the country, drawing strong reactions from the nation’s showbiz community.
He passed away at around 9:45 pm on Thursday while undergoing treatment at a hospital in Singapore, days after being critically injured in a shooting during an election campaign in Purana Paltan of the capital.
As news of his death spread, social media was flooded with messages of grief and protest from actors, musicians and filmmakers, with the entertainment industry voicing sorrow and renewed calls for justice.
