The Islamic Chhatra Shibir has announced a 26-member full panel for the upcoming Chittagong University Central Students’ Union (CUCSU) elections, under the banner of “Shompreetir Shikkharthi Jote.”
The panel’s leadership includes Ibrahim Hossain Roni as the vice president (VP), Shibir’s university unit Literature Secretary Said Bin Habib as general secretary (GS), and Shahjalal Hall President Sajjad Hossain Munna as assistant general secretary (AGS).
The panel includes students from outside the party, such as followers of the Sanatan religion and students injured during the July mass movement.

The announcement was made at a press conference on Thursday, held on the second floor of the CUCSU building, where Saidul Islam, Human Resources Secretary of Shibir, revealed the names of the top three candidates.
Mohammad Ali, President of Shibir’s Chittagong University branch, also shared the names of the other candidates, after which nominations were submitted.
Saidul Islam expressed, “We have tried to form a united panel comprising all students. We are 100% optimistic about winning. Through this victory, Shibir will ensure the necessary steps are taken for the welfare of students and implement effective changes in CUCSU.”
The list of candidates includes:

- Assistant Sports Secretary: Shahparan Maruf
- Literature, Culture, and Publication Secretary: Harezul Islam
- Assistant Literature Secretary: Jihad Hossain
- Office Secretary: Abdullah Al Noman
- Assistant Office Secretary: Jannatun Adn Nusrat
- Social Welfare and Environment Secretary: Tahsina Rahman
- Research and Innovation Secretary: Tanveer Anjum Shovon
- Science and Technology Secretary: Mahbubur Rahman
- Student Welfare Secretary: Nahima Akta Deepa
- Assistant Student Welfare Secretary: Jannatul Ferdous Rita
- Health Secretary: Afnan Hasan Imran
- Liberation War and Democratic Movement Secretary: Monayem Sharif
- Career Development and International Affairs Secretary: Mehedi Hasan Sohan
- Communication and Housing Secretary: Ishak Bhuiyan
- Assistant Communication and Housing Secretary: Obaidul Salman
- Law and Human Rights Secretary: Tawhid Rabbani
- Library and Career Secretary: Masum Billah
Additional candidates for various panel positions include Jannatul Ferdous Sanjida from the Department of Sociology, Salman Farsi from the IER Department, Akash Das, a disabled student from the Department of Sociology, Sohanur Rahman from the Department of Islamic History and Culture, and Adnan Sharif from the Department of Islamic Studies.
As per the schedule, voting for the CUCSU election will take place on 12 October, from 9am to 4pm, with a total of 27,634 registered voters, according to the final voter list.
The last day for collecting nominations was Thursday, and the preliminary list of candidates will be published on 21 September. Candidates can withdraw their nominations on 23 September, with the final candidate list to be announced on 25 September.
Like the DUCSU elections, students will vote using the OMR method.
