Sharon Osbourne has indicated that she may attend an anti-immigration march organised by far-right commentator Tommy Robinson, sparking fresh controversy around the upcoming London demonstration.
Robinson, whose real name is Stephen Yaxley-Lennon, is planning a new rally under the ‘Unite the Kingdom’ banner on May 16, following a previous event in Trafalgar Square that drew large crowds.
In a video posted on social media, Robinson called for mass attendance, repeating claims about immigration and criticising government policy. He also referenced disputed statistics that have previously been debunked.
Osbourne appeared to signal her support by commenting “See you at the march” under the post. The television personality, who recently returned to the UK after years in the US, has not issued any further clarification.
The earlier Unite the Kingdom rally saw over 100,000 attendees, according to organisers, with at least 25 arrests and 26 police officers reported injured during the event. The demonstration also drew counter-protests from anti-fascist groups.
Public figures including Katie Hopkins and Laurence Fox previously attended similar rallies, while Elon Musk appeared via video link, where he criticised what he called the “woke mind virus”.
The events have also prompted backlash from artists. James frontman Tim Booth previously condemned the use of the band’s song ‘Sit Down’ in promotional footage from Robinson’s camp, calling it unauthorised and contrary to the song’s message.
Osbourne has recently expressed interest in political engagement, including comments suggesting she was considering a run for public office in Birmingham, though she has not formally entered any race.
