Shakib Khan is set to return to the Dhallywood Awards in the United States after a five-year gap, joining a host of Bangladeshi stars at this year’s ceremony.
The Dhallywood Awards 2026 will take place on 10 October at the Evangel Church Centre in Long Island City, New York.
The event is being organised under the supervision and patronage of Showtime CEO Khairul Islam Khokon, with US-based presenter and programme planner Sharmin Siraj Sonia providing overall support.
The ceremony will honour artistes from Bangladesh’s film, music, fashion and television industries across several categories. It will also feature performances by participating stars and musicians.
Those confirmed to attend include Shakib Khan, Chanchal Chowdhury, Rizia Parvin, SI Tutul, Shirin Shila, Nirob, Toma Mirza, Sporshia and Dighi, among others.
Sharmin Siraj Sonia said Shakib Khan has confirmed his participation and will have multiple roles at the event.
“He will attend the ceremony, receive an honour and also present awards. He will also perform. We have already discussed the arrangements with him. Everything regarding the other artistes has also been finalised, although the names of the award recipients will be revealed at the ceremony,” she said.
Chanchal Chowdhury said he first attended the Dhallywood Awards in 2010, following the release of Monpura, and has participated in the event several times since.
Sporshia, who has confirmed her attendance, said she frequently travels to the United States because she has relatives there and expects to return for the ceremony.
Shirin Shila, who is currently in Canada, said she plans to travel to the United States before the event.
Singer Rizia Parvin, who has attended the awards previously, said she would once again entertain the audience through her music.
Shakib Khan last attended the Dhallywood Awards in 2021, when the 19th edition was held in Jamaica, New York. His return this year adds another prominent name to an already star-filled lineup.
