Dhallywood superstar Shakib Khan has spoken candidly about his past, personal struggles and mistakes in a recent television interview, explaining why he has become more private in recent years.

Appearing on the television programme to discuss his two-decade-long career, Shakib reflected on various experiences from both his professional and personal life.

Asked whether he had made mistakes in life, the actor admitted that he had made many.

“I have made many mistakes. Sometimes I feel I could have avoided them. Many times, people learn about something before I even get the chance to say it. There are times when I look back and regret what I said,” Shakib said.

Asked why those mistakes happened, he attributed them partly to circumstances and fate.

“Maybe it was fate. If I had not made those mistakes, things might have been much smoother today. But everyone makes mistakes,” he said.

Shakib said he still thinks about some of his past decisions from time to time. He added that these thoughts can trouble him when he spends time alone.

“When I sit quietly with myself, these calculations and reflections hurt me. But what can I do? Even if we want to, we cannot change many things because they are beyond our control. Once you realise something was a mistake, you cannot knowingly repeat it, and there is no possibility of doing so,” he said.

The conversation also touched on his personal life, including his two former wives, Apu Biswas and Shobnom Bubly.

“They are both a part of my life. But I do not want to say anything about them. I keep these matters to myself,” Shakib said.

Asked whether he gives them any advice when they meet, he said he sometimes cautions them.

The actor also addressed exaggerated reports about him circulating on social media.

According to Shakib, stories are often published about events even before they happen, while his name is sometimes linked to incidents with which he has no connection.

He said such speculation and excessive media attention have led him to withdraw from the public eye to some extent.

Meanwhile, Shakib remains optimistic about his upcoming film Soldier. The film is expected to be released in theatres around October this year.

The actor also said he wants to spend the rest of his life with greater happiness and positivity.
