Today marks the observance of the holy night of Shab-e-Qadr across Bangladesh and the Muslim world. Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has extended his heartfelt greetings to all Muslims on this auspicious occasion through a message on his verified Facebook page.
The sacred night, which begins after sunset on Monday, holds unparalleled significance in Islam. Devout Muslims engage in prayers, recitation of the Quran, and acts of devotion, seeking the mercy, blessings, and forgiveness of Almighty Allah.
In hisFacebook post, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman described Shab-e-Qadr as a night of honour and blessings.
He noted that the holy Quran was first revealed on this night during the month of Ramadan, and that Allah has declared it superior to a thousand months. The night offers humanity a unique opportunity for spiritual elevation, repentance, and closeness to God.
Tarique Rahman highlighted the values of Ramadan as a period of self-discipline, purification, patience, and humanitarian virtue.
He said the lessons of Shab-e-Qadr inspire individuals, society, and the nation to uphold peace, justice, and welfare.
The Prime Minister urged citizens to recognise the significance of the night, engage in sincere worship, and dedicate themselves to the service of humanity.
He prayed that Almighty Allah showers boundless mercy and blessings upon everyone and guides the country and its people towards progress, peace, harmony, and prosperity.
